Her repertoire is wide ranging and includes Hildegard of Bingen, Lieder, French and English songs as well as the music of Cole Porter, Noel Coward, George Gershwin and, latterly, Michael Flanders and Donald Swann. Amanda is also interested in contemporary music and has both commissioned and given first performances of new works. Her first CD 'You,Us,Me' was produced in 1998 and a recording of Haydn and Mozart for voice, square piano and Baroque flute was released in 2009. Kate Pearson
Kate is a composer and pianist working with arts organisations such as Opera North, the Royal Opera House, and Northern Ballet Theatre. Her pieces include, 'The Pied Piper' (Opera North), 'The Magical Journey' (RNCM) and 'A House on the Moon' (ETO). She also works extensively with schools, community groups and in the field of disability arts, including with the York group Accessible Arts. Kate lives in York.
Nicholas Nightingale
Nick took up singing after retiring as Secretary General of the World Alliance of YMCAs in Geneva. At the same time he signed up as a Christian Aid volunteer and began campaigning with Churches in North and East Yorkshire on Trade Justice and on Fairtrade. Nick has happy memories of 'At the Drop of a Hat' at the Fortune Theatre in London, seen as a schoolboy in 1958 with Michael Flanders and Donald Swann on stage, and realised that their wonderful mild protest songs highlight Christian Aid's causes today.
